Zhiwei received the Stanford School of Medicine Dean's Postdoctoral Fellowship. He will work on elucidating small metabolite alterations and functions in a large pediatric-onset Crohn’s disease cohort. Congrats!


November 2023

Aedan, Kazuma, and Zhiwei received the Basic Research Award in the 2023 Stanford Pathology Research Retreat. Congrats!


October 2023

Michelle received the Propel Postdoctoral Scholar. She aims to elucidate the metabolic pathway of choline and trimethylamine (TMA) production in nonpathogenic gut bacteria and consequently, contribute to the development of novel treatments for various cardiovascular diseases. Congrats, Michelle!


AUGUST 2023

Kazuma received the Stanford Pediatric IBD and Celiac Disease Research Program Early Career Award. He will work on creating special probiotics that are designed to help children with pediatric Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD). Congrats, Kazuma!

Our research is Highlighted in Stanford Medicine (AUGUST 2018)

Bruce Goldman wrote a great piece on how modulating the microbiome could be used to promote human health or treat disease. Other labs that were highlighted include friends and collaborators, KC Huang, Michael Fischbach, and Justin Sonnenburg.
